- ABOUT -
Molino Maufet is located in Villatico (Colico - Lecco - Italy) along the ancient "Roggia Molinaria" of the historic village of Fontanedo dating back to 1300, the first settlement of the country. Fourth survivor of a complex of 12 mills.
The original construction dates back to 1702 and, as it is today, was made up of two grinds moving from as many vertical wheels (“pesatore") powered by the water of the prospecting rust.
In the sixties of the last century, the water supply system was less equal to the work at the source and the disposal of the last mill (the oldest) working in the hamlet.
The mill was active until the 1960s and progressively unfortunately abandoned.
The new passionate buyers are conducting a meticulous restoration work in order to bring it back to its ancient splendor and adore it to the Museum making it so enjoyable for visits.
Supporting a consistent historical and material search, the original parts are carefully cataloged and restored while the missing parts are added. In addition to the desire not to lose an important historical memory, the desire to be able to relive the visitor's warm and flourishing atmosphere, an important reference of social aggregation for the local community, of the two small brothers “muliné" that with so much simple dedication and care managed it.
